I could live in that room—a cup of earl grey and a worn copy of Pride and Prejudice—perfect.

April Theme: Spring Renewal

Word of the Month: Growth

🌿 Prompt: "Growing Into..." 🌿

Growth can take many forms—personal, creative, emotional, or even the literal growth of nature around us. This month, reflect on what growth means to you. Are you stepping into something new? Nurturing an idea, skill, or mindset? Watching the world bloom around you?

Inspiration for Your Journal:

✨ Use layers to represent different stages of growth—collage, paint, or texture to build up your page.

✨ Incorporate botanical elements like pressed flowers, hand-drawn vines, or leaf motifs to symbolize renewal.

April Theme: April Showers

Prompt: "Capture the Beauty of Spring Rain"

April showers bring the promise of new growth and fresh beginnings. This month, let the soft, calming energy of spring rain inspire your artwork. From misty, rain-soaked landscapes to the intricate details of droplets on petals, this theme invites you to explore the fluidity and softness of water in your paintings. Experiment with the delicate transitions of light and color that come with rain showers and how they create mood and texture in your work.

Inspiration for Your Painting:

✨ Use watercolor techniques or fluid acrylics to create soft gradients and the illusion of rain or wet surfaces.

✨ Experiment with light and reflection—how does the rain affect the colors in the landscape, or the way light interacts with the environment?

✨ Include elements like umbrellas, puddles, rain-soaked flowers, or gray skies. Incorporate textures to evoke the dampness and freshness of spring showers.

Cut, Paste, & Create

Hey everyone! I’m Jesse. Growing up, if there was an art class, I was probably in it—painting, ceramics, cartooning, graphic design, you name it. But no matter what I tried (creative scatterbrain and all), I always found myself going back to my sketchbook. It’s where I would fill pages with collages, drawings, and whatever inspired me at the time. It traveled everywhere with me, from road trips to late nights at Barnes & Noble, spending hours sketching coloring, and even designing tattoos on the patio. I always go back to collages with ephemera and a mix of text, paint, or pencil. No rules, just enjoying the process. :)

Lately I've been focusing on using up my vintage ephemera stash and my mountain of craft supplies. Why "save" it? Use the good stuff, enjoy it.

Looking forward to being here with others who love creative journaling too!

Introduction✨

Hi everyone! I'm Madison! I've been an antique store fanatic as long as I can remember and I've had the privelage to work for several estate companies and antique stores, as well as owning my own booth. Stylistically I swing toward Midcentury Modern with a big dose of eclectic maximalism. This weekend I took home and styled my latest vintage treasure: a vintage wooden telescope box repurposed into a table! I'm moving soon and I'll have a whole house to style, but just doing this little part of my dining room made me so happy I just had to share!

Pretty much everything in this image is vintage or thrifted besides the frames! (My cat counts, I found her under a porch)

Hey Madison! That telescope box table is such a great find, and I love how you've styled it in your space. It’s awesome seeing vintage pieces come together like that. I can’t wait to see how the rest of your house turns out, oh the treasures you will find! Love how she's just sitting in the corner, supervising. :)

Vintage Vamper

Hi everyone! I’m Vicki, and I’ve always had a soft spot for giving old things a second life.

Right now, I’m repurposing well-loved vintage quilts into bags and home decor—each one feels like honoring the hands that stitched it long ago.

I’ve also been upcycling furniture for about 15 years. One of my favorite projects was turning a trio

of old dining room chairs into a cozy front porch swing.

For me, the magic is in seeing the possibility—that spark where something headed for the trash heap becomes beautiful, useful, and loved again. I’m especially drawn to pieces with history. There’s something deeply rewarding about restoring what another artist or maker once poured their heart into.

Hi everyone! I’m Vicki, and I’m based in Huntsville, Alabama.

I work across a variety of mediums—garment sewing, quilting, pattern making, knitting, crochet, embroidery, needlepoint, and graphic design. If it involves fabric, thread, or creativity, I’m probably in the middle of it!

I’ve spent most of my life surrounded by textiles and handwork. I’ve worked professionally in embroidery and design, but I also craft simply for the love of making. These days I’m in a transitional space—part hobbyist, part entrepreneur—exploring what’s next while working on some personal projects (including a book!) and dreaming big.

I’m also one half of Aunt Henri, a creative duo focused on handmade goods, vintage inspiration, and keeping old-school skills alive with heart and humor.

Excited to be part of this collective and can’t wait to get inspired by all of you!
